Welcome to the UC Davis Residential Sound Program landing page. UC Davis is currently in the early stages developing and staffing this program. As part of this process, we are working with noise experts to finalize the list of eligible homes.
Once this initial phase is completed, we will be notifying eligible households through mail and in-person outreach, providing details about the program. Community outreach and qualifications details will be available fall of 2025.
If you would like to be notified when the eligible properties are identified and to be added to the programs email list, please contact environreview@ucdavis.edu and put in the subject “Residential Sound Program”.
Program Background:
The California Hospital Tower will add two new rooftop helipads to improve operations and medical services at the only Level 1 trauma center in the region.
The program will offer residential sound modifications to qualified homeowners near the new California Tower, which could include acoustical windows, doors, ventilation and insulation up to $35,000 (2021 value) per residence. This program is part of the impact mitigation program identified during the CEQA environmental review process. The full language of the mitigation measure, along with on the helicopter noise analysis, can be viewed in the California Hospital Tower Final EIR, adopted in November 2021 by the UC Board of Regents.
